I'm Minerva, the human behind the lens.
I'm based in Austin, Texas, yet also available for work outside of Texas and North America
I have had a love for photography since the days of disposable cameras. You know, back when you could develop a roll of film for $5? Those were the days.
There's always been something about being able to keep a moment frozen in time forever has brought me joy. When the moments, people, or pets we love are gone, our connection continues through old photographs. I know this because photography runs in my genes. My dad always had a camera in his hand. Was I annoyed sometimes? Yeah. Am I grateful now? Yes. As I sit going through the mountains of photographs in my childhood home I am forever grateful he took photos of everything, even the mundane.
Over the years, I’ve explored portraits, headshots, event photography, production work, street scenes, pets, and landscapes. No matter what I’m photographing, my goal is the same: to create a space where my subjects feel at ease, safe, and seen. Being in front of a camera takes vulnerability and I will never take that for granted.
Recently, I was diagnosed with ADHD at age 36 (officially, not just on social media, no shade), a discovery that reframed how I understand both myself and my work. My brain is wired to notice details, patterns, and perspectives others might overlook, and photography has become one of the most rewarding outlets for that. I see the world differently, and I choose to celebrate that by bringing that vision to every image I create. My images don't reflect what you'd see on a Pinterest board, and I think that is pretty special.
I live in Austin, TX with my fiancé, Justin, and our dog, Luna. Thank you for taking the time to connect with my work. I’d be honored to help tell your story next.
My family on film in Balmorhea, Texas at Balmorhea State Park. One of my favorite places on this planet we call Earth.
